This month (as opposed to the last) I found a lot to choose from, both art-wise and photo-wise, so here’s an eclectic mix – plus our artist of the month. Enjoy! :)
Art in May: Home computers and game consoles from the past at the Oldenburger Computer Museum
Some sketches I did on location, with elements of the exhibition in the background (and a photo of a machines wall :)).

Also, the first half of the month was dedicated to finishing my comic project pitch developed for the AMK+ masterclass “Visual storytelling”. I’m quite happy with it, so you get to see many of the images I included ;)

…and the colour spread that showcases how the book is intended to look like:

I sent the pitch to the publishers who sponsored the masterclass, now waiting to see if they’re interested in publishing the book… Fingers crossed ;)
From my camera roll: Clouds, flowers and a bee
Majestic clouds over the countryside, admired during a walk in my neighborhood :)

Also, a bee enjoying the rhododendrons (already wilting a bit) in our garden :)

I shot many photos trying to catch the bees gathering pollen, this is the only one I got 😅
Have to tell you about: Krissy Diggs
An artist, musician, fashion designer and more! A few years ago she moved from the USA to Japan and seems to be thriving there now. I’ve been following her on Instagram for a long time, and especially love her bold, limited colour palettes, and her subjects mixing modernity and technology with a kind of fantastical, dreamy vibe.

In 2021 she did a “Draw This In Your Style” (a popular kind of “challenge” on Instagram) with an illustration of one of her original characters, Kirarin. I did this entry which I still like a lot :) (the linework, the simple, flat colours, the overlapping shapes)

That’s it for this month!
